This Empty City are a three piece Indie Rock band from Melbourne, Australia.

This Empty City came together by collaborating through text messages and Dropbox shares of riffs and loops. The band comprises of Rachel and Hope, a couple who have been together for over 30 years, with decades of experience in various bands and performance highlights including London Pride. Completing the trio is Mat, a multi-instrumentalist and producer they’ve only met a couple of times in person, whose musical versatility rounds out the band’s sound.

Melbourne indie outfit This Empty City return with Television, a shimmering track about the quiet crisis of modern life. The song pairs warm synth hooks with tight guitar lines and lyrics that ask what we’re actually doing with our attention. Drawing comparisons to acts like Foster the People, Phoenix, and Two Door Cinema Club, the track is upbeat and instantly catchy, yet its message carries subtle weight.
