Glorybox is a queer-feminist three-piece Synth-driven alt-pop band based in London, UK. They are Jessie Maryon Davies – Keys / Synths / Vocals, Daisy Swift – Vocals / Synths / Keys, and Kate Whitaker – Drums / Vocals.

They play synth-driven, energising and genre-blending tunes that draw on a love of 90s dance, RnB and an edge of rock to create a unique sound combining an upbeat feel with darker undertones. Glorybox released their debut EP, Ripple the Calm, in 2020, and most recently a live single, Shadows, developed through a residency at Snape Maltings with Britten Pears Arts.

As well as writing and performing their own music, they love to play a dancefloor-filling set of 90s dance mash-ups, and have promoted several of their own gigs to celebrate new music and champion the voices of women, trans and non-binary musicians. Away from performing they are all volunteers/organisers with grassroots charity Girls Rock London (Spark The Noise) and are committed to broadening participation in music for under-represented groups.

Our song Shadows delves into issues of bi erasure and cis/heteronormativity, ‘Shadows’ explores the painful experience of not being seen for who you truly are by some of the people you love. Whilst we have always celebrated and shared experiences related to our genders and queerness through our material, this single marks a new musical departure for us, forging a new path into darker realms of pop, drawing on tight vocal harmonies with dark rocky undertones.
