Hotly tipped by Dork (Hype List 2023), Slaney Bay are a four piece indie band from South West London. The band consists of four friends; Cait Whitley (vocals) Joel Martin (bass), Will Nicola-Thompson (guitar) and Jonny Burraway (drums). They’ve been longlisted for Glastonbury and Isle of Wight festival this year, and have just released their third ep, “the long way home”
Lead singer Cait Whitley says of the track: “‘The Long Way Home’ is a song about the quiet ache of young love. The idea came from a night when I deliberately missed my final train out of central London, just to spend a few extra moments with my crush. I took the longest route possible with them because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. I didn’t know if they felt the same way, but then I realised – they had taken the long way home too. My journey home felt never-ending, but I’d do it again in a heartbeat for them.”
