Anna Muir is an Indie-folk singer – songwriter, from Southampton, England

Based on the UK South Coast, singer-songwriter Anna Muir crafts music to drive, scream and cry to. Inspired by artists such as Phoebe Bridgers, Big Thief and Julien Baker, her songs blend visceral honesty, sharp lyricism and intimate vocals with dreamy guitar-driven arrangements.

BBC Introducing praised Anna’s “gorgeous vocals” and described her as “a name to remember”. In 2026, she won Haslemere Fringe Festival’s Rising Competition, earning a Main Stage slot alongside Caity Baser, Ocean Colour Scene and The Selecter. She has also supported multiple sold-out shows across the South and sold out her own headline show at Winchester’s The Railway Inn.

With new music on the horizon and a debut EP set for release in 2026, Anna Muir is quickly establishing herself as one of the South Coast’s most exciting emerging artists.

Forefront – A track tied to the experiences of young women today, including Anna’s own, ‘Forefront’ explores the frustration and double standards put upon them, disguised with a stadium-ready riff and a beat you can’t help but dance to. “This track is about the double standards and impossible expectations that are still being put on women, I always introduce the song as being about ‘how shit it is to be a woman sometimes’ which really is the song at its core,” Anna says of the single. “I really wanted to pair these lyrics alongside something infectious that people couldn’t look away from and that’s really how my guitarist and I put this song together, hooky guitars with biting lyrics at the forefront.”
