British-Iranian Queer artist Zahra Deljoui is leading the way for the LGBTQIA+ community with her honest, relatable and incredibly important message in music.
Combining her bedroom glitch-pop roots with alternative synth tones, Zahra has crafted a unique alt-pop sound to accompany her stunning vocals.
Zahra has drummed up some serious noise within the industry and made it her mission to champion both LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities. Highlights from 2023 include ‘Better Without You’ featuring on Apple Editorial playlist ‘New In Pop’, upon release ‘Love is Love’ was placed on the VEVO editorial playlist ‘LGBTQIA+ Women in Music’.
Later in 2023 after being selected by the BBC Upload show Zahra was invited on to the BBC to talk about the story behind the ‘Love is Love’ music video. The song then went on to gain national & international radio play on Gaydio, BBC & RTÉ 2XM. Later landing a slot in Rollingstone India and going on to feature in DIVA, one of the world’s leading magazines for LGBTQIA+ and non-binary people, Zahra has cemented herself as a force to be reckoned with as she continues to use her music to increase visibility.
The release of her next single ‘Anything Goes’ dropped on the 8th of March. The much-anticipated song is about falling for someone but being scared to fall. When you’re not looking for love but it finds you. Love can be a tricky battlefield to navigate in the neurodiverse world… Does what the heart wants match up with what the head wants?
Zahra’s personal experiences and unique perspective help to create music that resonates with audiences worldwide. Her willingness to tackle tough issues head-on has made her a much-loved artist in the LGBTQIA+ & neurodiverse communities.
Anything Goes was co-written by Sam Mackie & Zahra Deljoui, then produced by Hous of Mac an all female line up, release on International Women’s Day!
